Michel Porro

Born in Nijmegen in 1961, Michel Porro was raised in The Netherlands. Studied law but soon after graduation picked up photography professionally. In the 1990′s Michel spent 10 years in Asia, half of this decade as a staff photographer with Agence France-Presse. Assignments included the Olympic Games, international political meetings and a variety of breaking news events.

Upon return to The Netherlands Michel signed up with Getty Images. He continues to contribute to the world’s largest photo agency to this date. From 2005 onwards Michel specializes in portraiture for a variety of Dutch musicians, authors and actors to create book sleeves, album covers and campaign imagery.

On a corporate level Michel is hired for annual reports, (social media) portraits and reportages. When not on location, Michel works from his Amsterdam-based studio.
